Mrs. DeBono’s 5th Grade Supply list
Please bring in the following items as soon as possible to share in our classroom community. Items that are starred are for your child’s personal use. These items will stay at your child’s desk. All other items will be collected and used as “community supplies”. I have suggested amounts for all items, but extra supplies are always welcome. Please note, I do not ask for pencil boxes/cases. I will provide storage for your child’s supplies. Thank you.
Box of Crayons* (8 or 16 ct)
Colored Pencils* (12 ct)
Small pencil sharpener that includes a container to catch the shavings*
Small scissors*
2 vis-à-vis markers (for work on reusable laminated sheets, extra is welcome)
3 Packages of #2 Pencils
2 Highlighters
2 Boxes of tissue (We ran out last year, so more is welcome)
2-3 packages of wide ruled notebook paper
1 package of red pens
6 dry erase markers
4 glue sticks
2 packages of white copy paper
6 Composition notebooks for journals
Note: Cottonwood provides a 3 ring binder for each student to use for homework, schoolwork, and notes home. I require use of these binders, so please do not buy another unless the original breaks.

New and Exciting!
I'm so excited to get back to blogging from several months off. I'm looking forward to using my blog more effectively this coming school year. I cannot believe that it's already June 8th! Our summer is going to quickly. I hope to finish enjoying reading new books, finding great deals on everyday items and lounging by the pool. I hope you all are enjoying your summer break. Here's to more posts in 2011-2012. Have a great summer!

Rodeo Week
Monday is a regular school day.
Tuesday is Benchmark Writing Assessment day. Wear your PJs and be comfy, cozy as we write our best!
Wednesday is Field Day from 10am-11:45am. Wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle and hat to wear.
No school on Thursday and Friday, happy Rodeo!

Super Bowl Sunday!!
Go Packers! Go Steelers! I hope everyone is enjoying the game! Mrs. DeBono is working through the game but I am catching some funny commercials :) Below is information for this short week. I will have progress reports available at the conferences so I'm looking forward to seeing all the adults at your assigned time. Have a great week.

How many square units will he need? (Remember to include a description of which measurement is area and which one is perimeter).
