Red Ribbon Week- October 24th-28th

Hello 5th grade families!

Announcements:
1. Did you see the Biztown field trip forms? They are pink and went home with students on Friday. Please sign both the pink and white form and return by November 1st with payment.
2. This week is Red Ribbon Week. Students will continue to learn to make healthy choices in life and participate in some healthy activities. Please see the schedule below for each day's events.

Curriculum/Tests for the week:
1. Math concept = Converting, comparing and ordering fractions, decimals and percents. Test on Friday.
2. Reading concept = Determining the author's point of view (first person, third person limited, third person omnicient) Test on Friday. This week's story, "Hot and Cold Summer."
3. English = When do I use a semicolon? How do I write a resume?
4. Science = Continue introduction to the Nervous System
5. Social Studies = Biztown unit, begin studying Midwestern states and capitals.
6. Spelling = vowel pairs, diagraphs
